HEATHENS 53 KENT 40

Wednesday June 10, 2015
CRADLEY moved back to the top of the National League table with a 53-40 victory over Kent.

It was another entertaining night at Perry Barr which saw plenty of drama and some magnificent racing.

Heathens Team Manager Will Pottinger was pleased to see his side extend their winning home run to five meetings.

Said Pottinger: "Our objective was to get three more league points and we did just that so it's a case of job done once again for the lads.

"It was always going to be tough after a two week break in matches and we threw away some silly points and we need to cut them out.

"There was some bizarre races, some brilliant races and overall it was another really good night for the National League.

"We've got some big, important meetings coming up and tonight's result keeps our confidence going."

Skipper Max Clegg top-scored for the Heathens and was only denied a paid maximum in the re-run of Heat 15.

Nathan Greaves enjoyed his best score of the season and was involved in a Heat 13 5-1 with Clegg in what was one of the races of the season so far.

Matt Williamson achieved double figures once again whilst Ellis Perks would have scored more than the six points he picked up if it wouldn't have been for a series of mechanical gremlins.

Michael Neale and Luke Harris chipped in with five points apiece from reserve while Arron Mogridge bounced back well from two falls to finish with three points to his name.

CRADLEY 53: Max Clegg 13+1, Nathan Greaves 11+2, Matt Williamson 10, Ellis Perks 6, Michael Neale 5+2, Luke Harris 5, Arron Mogridge 3

KENT 40: Ben Morley 14, Danny Ayres 11+1, James Shanes 8, Jamie Couzins 4+1, Jack Smith 2, Danno Verge 1, Cameron Hoskins 0, Aaron Baseby R/R.
