KING'S LYNN 41 HEATHENS 49

Sunday July 18, 2010
DUDLEY Heathens continued their dramatic push for a National League play-off place with a stunning 49-41 win at King's Lynn on Sunday.

Jon Armstrong was unbeaten by an opposing rider to delight the travelling Heathens fans who swelled the crowd.

But the win came at a cost and the club are now sweating on the fitness of key reserve Richard Franklin after an untidy spill.

Boss Will Pottinger said: "Our thoughts go to Richard who has been taken to hospital as a precaution, hopefully he will be fine but he was struggling for breath at one stage.

"We dedicated the win to Rich. The way we hit three straight 5-1 maximums to win it at the end was amazing and I'm proud of all the boys. It's a great result and now we have to beat the Isle of Wight at Birmingham on Wednesday."

Armstrong carded 13+2 from five outings and Byron Bekker proved to be the perfect guest for the absent Lee Smart, who was riding for his Premier League club Stoke, with 13+1.

KINGS LYNN: Cal McDade 9+1, Darren Mallett 9, Jake Knight 7+1, Scott Campos 5, Lewis Kerr 4+2, Simon Lambert 4, Adam Lowe 3+1.

DUDLEY: Jon Armstrong 13+2, Byron Bekker 13+1, Jake Anderson 6+1, Tom Perry 6, Micky Dyer 6, Ashley Morris 5, Richard Franklin 0.
