HEATHENS REACH CUP FINAL

Wednesday October 14, 2015
CRADLEY reached the National League Knockout Cup final for the fourth year running after a 57-33 win over King's Lynn.

An impressive all-round display clinched a 36-point aggregate victory, totalling 108-72 over the two legs.

On a night of first class entertainment, the scoreline certainly didn't reflect the racing on show but it's the Heathens who will be buoyed ahead of their Grand Final against Eastbourne next week.

A delighted team manager Will Pottinger said: "It's great to race to such an emphatic win over the two legs and it certainly fills us with confidence ahead of the final.

"We got off to a pretty slow start but we restricted them to just the one race win and it was a really impressive performance from the boys.

"We're under no illusions - it's going to be a tough final against Eastbourne but we know we're more than capable of winning over two legs and all the lads will need to dig deep and hopefully we can finish off the season with a trophy."

Heathens top two Max Clegg and Matt Williamson continued their remarkable form by going unbeaten by a King's Lynn rider for a second successive week.

Darryl Ritchings and Arron Mogridge proved to be a more than handy duo at No's 3 and 4 once again and both were only denied a paid maximum of their own due to an engine failure and a fall respectively.

15-year-old reserve guest Jack Parkinson-Blackburn impressed once again and deserved even more points than he managed for his efforts.

Tyler Govier endured another tough night as the Heathens booked their place in the final.

The Heathens will host Eastbourne in the first leg next Wednesday (October 21) before travelling to Arlington for the return fixture on Saturday October 24.
