HEATHENS 45 KING'S LYNN 27

Monday April 25, 2016
CRADLEY made it three home wins out of three with a 45-27 victory against King's Lynn.

The Motor Market Heathens maintained their 100% home record on a night of racing which was cut short due to a heavy downpour prior to heat 13.

After the visiting Young Stars' No.1 Tom Stokes took the chequered flag in the opener, the Heathens went on to secure the remaining 11 heat winners on another dominant night at Monmore Green.

Team manager Will Pottinger said: "After the disappointing result at Birmingham last week it was important that we bounced back tonight and we did just that.

"We managed to get our noses in front with a couple of heat advantages in the first few races and from there we just kicked on.

"Our top three continued their own good run of form and there were plenty of positive signs for the two reserves as well.

"Ben (Basford) got another race win under his belt and I was particularly pleased to see an improvement for Brad (Andrews) as well.

"A big thanks to Dan Bewley for guesting as well - he did a terrific job for us and he's a very talented young rider.

"We've kept our run at home going and we'll head to Coventry a week on Friday full of confidence."

After a frustrating start to the night, Luke Chessell turned his meeting around to finish off with three straight wins to notch another double figure score at Monmore Green.

Ashley Morris went unbeaten from his three rides while Max Clegg and Dan Bewley both registered two wins apiece.

Ben Basford and Bradley Andrews both chipped in with useful contributions from reserve on an encouraging night all-round from the Motor Market Heathens.

The club also announced that their prestigious Golden Hammer Individual meeting will be staged at Monmore Green on Tuesday, August 9.

Meanwhile, the side's Travel Plus National League fixture at Belle Vue has been rearranged for Saturday, May 7, 7.30pm.

CRADLEY 45: Luke Chessell 12+1, Ashley Morris 9, Dan Bewley 8+1, Max Clegg 8, Ben Basford 5, Bradley Andrews 3+1, Jack Kingston R/R.

KING’S LYNN 27: Tom Stokes 6, Josh Bailey 6, Nathan Greaves 6, Scott Campos 4+2, Ryan Kinsley 2+2, Shane Hazelden 2, Layne Cupitt 1.
