HEATHENS bosses have spent their weekend burning the midnight oil to finalise the line-up for Monday's showpiece F.A.S.T Golden Hammer at Monmore (7.30).

And they've come up with an exciting mixture of youth and experience - including a father and son rivalry for the first time in the history of the event.

Modern day Heathens icons Tom Perry, Ash Morris, Max Clegg and Nathan Greaves - who have all won league titles with the club - will do battle for the prestigious prize.

And they're joined by USA World Cup ace Broc Nicol, who is looking for a British team spot next year, British teenage sensation Dan Bewley plus Lee and Kean Dicken.

The Hull based duo have come into the line-up late after the withdrawal of Joe Lawlor due to a lack of machinery and Jordan Jenkins due to his involvement in the Knockout Cup Final with Mildenhall.

Heathens ace Richard Hall, who ruled himself out for the rest of season last week, is included after making a fine recovery to score well for Belle Vue Colts on Friday as a guest.

Heathens co-boss Nigel Pearson said: "It's fair to say it's been a tricky time with circumstances changing as fixtures and results developed.

"We've been on the phone 24/7 to riders. Gary Patchett and Will Pottinger have done a wonderful job and we are delighted with the way the line-up has fallen into place.

"I'm particularly pleased to see Richard riding well at Belle Vue on Friday, I go back a long way with Rich and I'm sure he will challenge for the title.

"This is the final action of the season and we are hoping to be back in 2018.

"I've not been to many speedway events down the years with a father and son in the same meeting. I know Lee Dicken from my time at Hull and I'd love to play a part in seeing the sport revived there as well as Cradley. His son Kean is desperate to forge a successful career in speedway.

"We are also publicising and promoting Dudley Stroke Association and I hope we can raise some good money for them.

"I'm sure we will all have a fun night and we hope everyone comes along and enjoys themselves.

"I'd personally love to see one of Perry, Greaves, Morris, Clegg, Hall, Dwyer or Harris win it - but don't be surprised if someone outside of that groups pinches it!"

Fans are reminded the race worn race jackets will be available from he track shop at £75 each after the meeting.
