BICKLEY’S THE BOY FOR HEATHENS

Wednesday January 24, 2018
SCHOOLBOY Kyle Bickley is the latest name on Cradley’s National Trophy register.

The Cumbrian racer, 15, celebrates his 16th birthday next month and his signing means the club have three riders of the same age.

He joins fellow teenage sensations Drew Kemp and Jason Edwards in the side along with skipper Adam Roynon.

And he admits he’s been studying the glittering history of the former Dudley Wood club who will be racing home meetings at Wolverhampton.

“Why would you not want to be at the club?” he said.

“I got approached and asked if I wanted to be a part of the team. I was delighted.

“The fans are very friendly — I’ve spoken to them in the past after meetings when I’ve ridden there.

“It’s a really good club. Friendly people, friendly management. I don’t see why I can’t do well. I am proud to represent the club.”

Bickley will ride for his local club Workington in the Championship and Belle Vue Colts in the National League with Heathens unable to secure enough dates for a full season.

Cradley are hoping to give an indication of the Mondays they will be racing at Wolverhampton in the near future.
