BUXTON v HEATHENS, PREVIEW

Saturday May 26, 2018
CRADLEY take a makeshift side to Buxton on Sunday for their fourth National Trophy fixture of the season (3pm).

The Motor Market Heathens will be without captain Adam Roynon, star reserve Drew Kemp as well as Bradley Andrews who are all involved in Mildenhall and Plymouth’s head-to-head the same afternoon.

Cradley has initially booked Ben Morley to deputise at No.1, but the Isle of Wight man sustained a broken wrist on Thursday.

So 2017 member Joe Lawlor has now answered the club’s call who’ll be looking to continue his flying form.

The Heathens again hand another opportunity to local lad James Chattin at reserve while recent recruit Chris Widman make his debut as they look to bounce back from Monday’s disappointing home defeat to Coventry.

Team Manager Will Pottinger said: “We tried our best to switch dates with other clubs but it hasn’t been possible.

“Either clubs weren’t keen on switching, which is understandable if they were going to be missing riders too, or we’d still have been missing riders who would be racing elsewhere.

“So we’re missing a number of regular Cradley riders but we must pull together and work hard to achieve a good result. “We won’t underestimate Buxton as we look to bounce back from Monday’s home defeat against Coventry.”

BUXTON: Ben Wilson, TBC, Connor Coles R/R, Tom Woolley, David Wallinger, Kieran Douglas, Lewis Whitmore.

CRADLEY: Joe Lawlor, Bradley Andrews R/R, Kyle Bickley, Chris Widman, Alfie Bowtell, James Chattin, Jason Edwards.
