NEW TROPHY FINAL DATE

Tuesday August 28, 2018
CRADLEY'S home leg of the National Trophy Final with Mildenhall has been put back 24-hours.

The Motor Market Heathens will now race at Wolverhampton on Tuesday September 11 to avoid being stripped of half their team.

The original date of September 10 ruled out Kyle Bickley and Taylor Hampshire with the club already without Drew Kemp.

Boss Will Pottinger said: "This is great news and it underlines what can be done when clubs work together for the good of the sport.

"It's a cup final so both clubs want it to e a spectacle for the fans and now it has ever chance of being that.

"We know what a powerhouse team Mildenhall have but we will be giving it our very best to win the competition at our first attempt.

"We would like a handy lead, any lead at all, from the home leg so our fans can travel to Mildenhall for the return on the Sunday with hope of an aggregate win.

"It's been an enjoyable season, although not riding in the National League itself and just the Trophy means it's been shortened, but the club have been racing which is most important.

"September 11 is now confirmed as our last home action of the season so we want to see every Heathens fan supporting us."

Cradley won their group in a dramatic draw at Birmingham last month to just edge out the Brummies.

Mildenhall are regarded as one of the strongest teams in National League history, similar to the Cradley side of four years ago.
