HEATHENS 43 BUXTON 47

DUDLEY Heathens are set to welcome fans' favourite Jon Armstrong back to the side after their 47-43 Knockout Cup semi-final first leg defeat by Buxton at Wolverhampton on Tuesday.

Armstrong has been out for six-weeks after suffering a broken arm but was given the all-clear to start training last weekend.
Now he could be set for a dramatic recall to the Heathens side for the second leg in Derbyshire on Sunday on a track he knows well.

The former Cradley club were outclassed from the gate on a dramatic night which saw Aussie ace Micky Dyer arrive just in time for his opening ride and Buxton reserve Lewis Dallaway ruled out with a neck injury after a crash in his opening ride. Thankfully he was released from hospital later in the evening and is hoping to ride on Sunday.

Dyer was the top man for the Heathens with 12 and he received solid support from Tom Perry and Ashley Morris, both local youngsters, with 9-points each.

Heathens boss Will Pottinger said: "This is obviously a massive disappointment for us, but we will go to Buxton on Sunday and give it everything we have got.

"We are the underdogs, most people expect Buxton to finish the job from here but we still have 15 races to go, let's see what happens!

"Armo has told us he is ready to ride again and he could well be in our plans for Sunday. We have missed his presence both on and off the track."

DUDLEY: Micky Dyer 12, Ashley Morris 9, Tom Perry 9, Lee Smart 6+2, Richard Franklin 5+3, Jake Anderson 1+1, Barrie Evans 1+1.

BUXTON: Adam Allott 13, Craig Cook 12+1, Jason Garrity 8+2, Nick Morris 8+1, Rob Branford 6, Lewis Dallaway 0, Jonathan Bethall R/R.
