JACK’S BACK FOR HEATHENS

Wednesday August 28, 2019
JACK Smith is back for Cradley – and he can’t wait to race at Belle Vue’s National Speedway Stadium on Thursday (7.30).

Smith was ruled out of Sunday’s Pairs Championship at Sheffield after crashing out of the home win over Plymouth.

Now he’s all set to return at his former home track when the Anchor Logistics Heathens make the trip to Manchester to face the Colts.

He said: “I’m glad to be able to ride at Belle Vue because it’s a track I enjoy riding and one I know well having ridden for them before.

“I know some of their boys like Kyle (Bickley) and Leon (Flint) as well and we always have a bit of a laugh and a bit of competition when we go up against each other.

“Belle Vue is a tough place to go to for away teams in the National League but as always we’ll go there and give it our best.”

Heathens return to Monmore Green, Wolverhampton, on Monday September 9 when they round off their home league programme against Kent.

They also head to Leicester next Tuesday for a rearranged league fixture.

BELLE VUE: Kyle Bickley, Connor Bailey, Jordan Palin, Danny Phillips, Leon Flint, Ben Rathbone, Ben Woodhull.
CRADLEY: Max Clegg, Tom Spencer R/R, Luke Harris, Danny Halsey, Jack Smith, Sheldon Davies, Harry McGurk.
