LEICESTER 51 HEATHENS 39

Sunday September 11, 2011
AMERICAN ace Ryan Fisher romped to a 13+1 haul for Dudley Heathens in their 51-39 defeat at Leicester in the Ivor Brown Cup on Sunday.

Fisher was making a guest appearance from Elite League Coventry and a slip in Heat 15 prevented him from going through the card.

He received handy support from Josh Auty with 11 and reserve Tom Perry was good value with his 8+1 score.

Heathens boss Will Pottinger said: “Leicester just had too much strength in-depth and they deserved their win.

“I’m sure every Heathens fan could tell Ryan Fisher was a class above and as a friend of our former riders Billy Hamill and Greg Hancock I am sure his appearance in our colours went down well.

“I would have liked to have given Darryl (Ritchings) more races but the jump up to Premier League standard racing is massive and I’m sure he has benefited from being with the team.”

Heathens are next in action when they face Birmingham in a West Midlands Challenge clash at Wolverhampton on Tuesday, September 20.

LEICESTER 51: Ilya Bondarenko 13, Jan Graversen 12+2, Kauko Nieminen 8+1, Henning Bager 6+4, Magnus Karlsson 6+2, Viktor Bergstrom 6+1, Ben Holloway 0.

HEATHENS 39: Ryan Fisher 13+1, Josh Auty 11, Tom Perry 8+1, Tomasz Piszcz 4, Ashley Morris 2+2, Jamie Courtney 1+1, Darryl Ritchings 0, Kyle Newman R/R.
