TOM Perry top scored for Great Britain Under-21s as they notched a dramatic last gasp 46-44 win over the USA Tourists in a Monmore Green thriller on Tuesday.

The Dudley Heathens favourite scored 12-points from his five outings and he received useful support from ex-Heathen James Sarjeant who impressed with 10+2.

Workington’s Premier League star Kenny Ingalls was unstoppable with a 15-point maximum for the tourists in a night of great entertainment with a big crowd.

Other Heathens riders Ashley Morris (8+1), Richard Franklin (5+1) and Darryl Ritchings (4) did well for the GB side.

Perry and Sarjeant tucked in behind Ingalls in the decisive Heat 15 for a 3-3 to hand the hosts the win.

GB boss Phil Morris said: “I put the team together with a lot of Dudley Heathens riders because they are a club who base their sides mainly on young British talent which is great.

“I admire them for the way they give British youngsters opportunities and Tom Perry in particular had a great night, it was nice to win. If every club had the same attitude as Dudley it would help.”
