DUDLEY Heathens battled to a 56-36 victory over arch rivals Mildenhall on a night of exciting action at Monmore Green.
Two 5–1s in the opening four races gave the former Cradley club an early lead - bur the visiting Fen Tigers remained only eight behind after 11 heats.
Heathens came on strong in the closing stages to take victory by a comprehensive 20 point margin and secure all three National League points.
And boss Will Pottinger was delighted with the win.
He said: "It was a really good result. The winning margin of 20 points was very pleasing especially as we were only eight ahead going into the last third of the meeting.
"We're really happy to get the three points and there were some very good performances."
Ashley Morris and Lewis Blackbird both put in excellent performances - suffering just one defeat apiece and displaying excellent team riding to take 5-1s in heats 13 and 15 as they prepare for Sunday's National League Pairs'.
No.3 Paul Starke also put in another superb display - only being denied a maximum by losing his steel shoe when leading in his second ride - whilst Max Clegg bolstered the lower order with a double figure return from reserve.
Nathan Greaves, Dan Greenwood and Gareth Isherwood all made useful contributions despite not enjoying their finest evenings to ensure Heathens maintained their perfect National League record.
