BUXTON 36 HEATHENS 53

Sunday July 06, 2014
CRADLEY continued their stunning run of form as they battled to a hard-fought 53-36 victory at Buxton.

The in-form Heathens raced to their eighth consecutive win in a tough encounter to add four more points to their National League tally.

Without Steve Worrall, it was a great performance from Will Pottinger's side to claim another outstanding victory.

And Pottinger was pleased to see his side come out on top in a difficult clash.

He said: "We got the job done and came away with another four league points which was the important thing.

"The track was quite difficult to start with but the lads got better as conditions improved and came on strong with heat advantages in each of the last eight races.

"It was job well done really and everyone came away in one piece, so it was a good afternoon for us."

Tom Perry continued his flying form to top score for the visitors in the tough No.5 position, claiming some crucial race wins as his side recovered from a slow start to come on strong in the closing stages.

With skipper Paul Starke impressive and Max Clegg also adding double figures with a determined effort, Cradley had a powerful spearhead to lead their charge.

Matt Williamson continued his excellent form against his former club to contribute a vital 9+2, whilst Danny Phillips picked up some important third places as the Heathens claimed an important win.
