WIDMAN JOINS HEATHENS

CRADLEY have snapped up experienced Chris Widman to bolster their National Trophy side.

Widman comes into the Motor Market Heathens line-up in place of Conor Dwyer after last Monday’s disappointing home defeat against Coventry.

The 28-year-old, who also rides for the Isle of Wight, will make his debut in Sunday’s crucial away clash at Buxton (3pm).

And after overcoming some bike problems in the early stages of the season, Widman reckons he is ready to make an instant impact.

“It’s such a prestigious race jacket to have the honour to be wearing,” Widman said after putting pen to paper with the former Dudley Wood club.

“I haven’t had the greatest of starts to the season, but with my mechanical problems now behind me I’m feeling ready to kick-on.

“The few meetings I have with the Heathens will give me those extra laps I need to boost my confidence, and I hope I can do a good job."
