BUXTON 49 HEATHENS 43

Sunday October 17, 2010
DUDLEY Heathens will stage one last home meeting at Wolverhampton on Tuesday after their National League play-off exit at Buxton on Sunday.

The former Cradley club went down 49-43 on the day, 99-83 on aggregate, despite a brave effort after losing their home leg by 10-points.

And the day was marred by an injury to hugely popular Heathens star Tom Perry who was taken to hospital with a wrist injury and is doubtful for Tuesday’s Staffordshire Cup tie with Stoke.

Boss Will Pottinger said: “It was always going to be a tough task for us and the injury to Tom was a massive blow.

“But the boys gave it their all and now we will look forward to the Stoke meeting on Tuesday and see if we can give our fans something more to cheer.

“I’d like to put on record my appreciation, on behalf of the team, for the support we have had all season long, it has made a massive difference and Tuesday will be a night of celebration.”
