HEATHENS 62 COVENTRY 30

Tuesday June 11, 2013
DUDLEY put in a classy performance to take a comprehensive 62-30 victory over local rivals Coventry Storm at Monmore Wood.

Three 5-1s in the opening four heats put Heathens firmly in control from the off before they eventually took a comfortable win.

And team boss Will Pottinger was delighted with his side’s performance after many predicted a tight affair.

He said: “We’re absolutely delighted with that performance, especially when you consider we only had five of our usual side.

“Four of the lads made double figures, another was paid for double figures and you can't ask for much more than that - it was a great performance.”

With Gareth Isherwood and Dan Greenwood both missing through injury, Ashley Morris and Lewis Blackbird put in superb performances to lead the side.

Paul Starke again stepped up with a determined display to make 13, whilst Max Clegg impressed with three race wins on his way to 12+1.

His reserve partner Nathan Greaves also fought hard to end with his best score of the season so far.

Former Heathens man Darryl Ritchings notched two paid wins on a guest appearance as the former-Cradley club outclassed their opponents to bag their second win in two National League outings.
