COVENTRY 41 HEATHENS 49

Friday August 30, 2013
DUDLEY moved ten points clear at the top of the National League table with a hard-fought 49-41 victory over Coventry Storm at Brandon.

In front of a large travelling Heathens contingent, a strong all-around team performance gave the visitors all four National League points.

And boss Will Pottinger was pleased to see all six riders contribute despite the absence of Gareth Isherwood.

Said Pottinger: "It's another four league points added to our total, and the boys did a good job.

"It was another quite tough track where starting was vital, but everyone worked hard to get us another great result to really establish our position at the top of the league."

Paul Starke top scored for the Heathens in his last meeting before taking over the No.1 spot - recording three race wins on his way to thirteen points.

Skipper Ashley Morris and Lewis Blackbird both scored well with Morris taking victory in heat 15 to secure maximum points for the visitors.

Teenager Max Clegg enjoyed another fine evening as he prepares to move into the main body next week - whilst Dan Greenwood and Nathan Greaves both battled hard to complete a strong team showing.
